How many hours will the DVR Expander add to my DVR?

Cable DVR - Scientific Atlanta 8300 and 8240 series

Many cable companies offer Scientific Atlanta 8300 and 8240 series DVRs with an active eSATA port. If you are uncertain whether your DVR supports external storage, you can check Apricorn’s website, search the internet by DVR model number, or contact the DVR manufacturer.

Dish Network® DVRs

DISH Network® customers with a ViP612™, ViP622™ or ViP722™ HD DVR receivers can now enjoy near limitless DVR storage with the addition of an Apricorn DVR Expander. Just connect the DVR Expander to the set top box receiver via the included USB 2.0 cable and begin to transfer recorded content off your DVR. From there, the program can be kept, watched or even sent back to the DVR.

Have separate DVR Expanders with your Dish Network system dedicated to different shows

Currently, you can only connect one DVR Expander to the receiver at one time; however, you can connect multiple DVR Expanders one-at-a-time (for example, to dedicate one drive for your movies, favorite shows or one for sporting events).
