Quality Director:

Requirements:

Masters Degree in Business Administration or Engineering plus 5 years related experience in corporate quality environment at electronic or mechanical manufacturing firm.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.
• Management of multiple employees and project team leadership experience required.
• Knowledge of Asian contract manufacturing operations.
• Clear understanding of computer terms, and ability to explain them.
• Experience working in ISO:9000, and ISO:14001 compliant environments.

• In depth understanding of First Pass Yield analysis, Corrective Action/Preventive Action, Continuous Improvement Process, returned goods trends and Statistical Process Control using Cpk methodology.

DUTIES: 

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Quality department at Apricorn to ensure product quality and continuous improvement methodologies are in place and being followed.
• Interface with suppliers in support of quality and continuous improvement goals. 
• Respond to customer issues as needed. 
• Ensure proper staffing and training of Quality department, and proper processing of quality issues, including CARs and RMAs. 
• Review quality records and return trends to improve overall product quality and reduce defective shipments.  
• Assist in qualifying new products and suppliers. 
• Work with Apricorn suppliers to develop and implement continuous improvement processes.
• Act as lead person for all product quality issues.
• Review Call records and Returned Goods trends. 
• Review monthly reports of returned goods information and reports to identify defective trends and improve overall product quality.
• Assist in training Production department on quality manufacturing procedures for new products.
• Assist in testing and qualifying new Apricorn products by helping to develop and document test procedures. 
• Ensure records for all qualifications and approvals are maintained.
• Assist in updating and maintaining all Assembly Instructions, Users Guides and Web Support pages as needed. 
• Review supplier quality documents to ensure Apricorn specifications are met and production processes are adhered to.
• Maintain and document incoming and production line First Pass Yield quality issues.  Interface with suppliers as needed to improve quality related issues.
• Interface with customers as needed to obtain feedback in order to improve product quality.
• Travel to customer sites, meet with Executive and Quality Review Boards, and present quality data in support of Apricorn quality goals as needed.
• Assist in identification and development of new product ideas, ensuring quality materials and processes are designed into all new products.
• Ensure Apricorn and key customer quality goals are synchronized with suppliers.
• Support product management responsibilities as required.
• Must be able to develop a methodical approach to improving computer hardware and software quality issues. 
• Explain and demonstrate such techniques to new staff and suppliers in both Mandarin Chinese and English. 
• Recognize the symptoms of common and rare computer quality issues, as well as listen to and verify symptoms described by the customer and tech support reps, plus test and verify individual components in order to isolate the root problem.
